I-84 lane and ramp restrictions at Broadway rescheduled for Oct. 2 for interstate pavement project
BOISE - Nighttime lane and ramp restrictions on I-84 at the Broadway Interchange have been rescheduled for Oct. 2, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The closures are part of a pavement rehabilitation project on I-84 between the Broadway and Eisenman interchanges, which began earlier this month.

Work on the I-84 westbound lanes began near the Eisenman Interchange Sept. 16. Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction between the Eisenman and Gowen interchanges. The westbound I-84 on-ramp at Eisenman Road remains closed.

Starting Oct. 2, the following traffic changes will occur:
  • Westbound I-84 will be reduced to one lane in both directions from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. between the Broadway and Gowen interchanges.
  • The westbound on- and off-ramps at Broadway Avenue will be closed during the same hours.
  • The above lane and ramp closures will be in effect 24 hours a day for the weekend of Oct. 5 - 7. The restrictions will be in effect from Friday morning (Oct. 5)  at 8 a.m. to  Monday morning (Oct. 8) at  6 a.m., when nighttime-only closures will resume.
The project rehabilitates 6.1 miles of deteriorated pavement on I-84 that was originally built in 1968. A kick-off ceremony is planned for Sept. 27 to celebrate the project, which is the first in a series of I-84 improvements east of the WYE Interchange to be funded by Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) Bonds.

Western Construction of Boise is the contractor on the $12 million I-84, Broadway to Eisenman project. ITD expects construction to be complete by summer 2008.
