Public invited to review upcoming traffic changes at Oct. 2 open house for I-84 Broadway to Eisenman project
BOISE - A public open house on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at Idaho Ice World will provide information about I-84 construction between the Broadway Avenue and Eisenman Road interchanges, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The open house will be held between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. The public will be able to learn about traffic impacts and ask specific questions about the project. Idaho Ice World is located in the Boise Factory Outlets complex. From I-84, meeting attendees can take Exit 57 (Gowen Road), turn south on Gowen Road and east on Eisenman Road.

The I-84 Broadway to Eisenman project will rehabilitate 6.1 miles of I-84. The I-84 westbound on-ramp at Eisenman Road is currently closed for construction.

Starting Oct. 2, the following traffic changes will occur:
    - Westbound I-84 will be reduced to one lane in either direction from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. between the Broadway and Gowen interchanges.
    - The westbound on- and off-ramps at Broadway Avenue will be closed during the same hours.
    - Beginning Friday morning (Oct. 5), the lane and ramp closures will be in effect 24 hours a day. Traffic will return to normal at 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, and nighttime-only closures will resume.
    - The I-84 westbound on-ramp at Eisenman Road will remain closed.

The project is funded through the GARVEE Transportation Program, which uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to fund highway projects in less time than through traditional funding methods.

The I-84 Broadway to Eisenman project is scheduled for completion in Summer 2008. Western Construction of Boise is the contractor for the $12 million project.
