Chinden/Eagle intersection repaving project to run nightly May 31-June 1
EAGLE – The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) will repave the Chinden Boulevard/Eagle Road intersection tomorrow night May 31, and Thursday, June 1. Drivers should take alternate routes to avoid long delays.
Over the next two weeks, crews will pave the northbound lanes of Eagle Road between Hobble Creek Drive and Colchester Drive. Tonight, the northbound lanes of Eagle Road will be closed between McMillan Road and Chinden Boulevard. Starting tomorrow night, May 31, Eagle Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Hobble Creek Drive and Colchester Drive. Closing the Chinden/Eagle intersection overnight on Wednesday and Thursday will allow crews to repave the east side of the intersection.
All work will begin at 10 p.m. and end at the following times:
- Weekday mornings: 6 a.m.
- Saturday mornings: 7 a.m.
- Sunday mornings: 8 a.m.
Access to side streets on the east side of Eagle Road will be blocked at night where crews are working. Routes for residents will be determined as needed.
For the latest closure locations, text EagleRoad to 1-866-483-8422 or visit itdprojects.org/eagleroadrepairs to sign up for email updates.
“We are asking that drivers slow down and be cautious where crews are working,” said Jeff Ryan, ITD Resident Engineer. “Nighttime closures will allow all lanes to remain open during the daytime commute. We appreciate the community’s patience as we work to get this important repaving project complete.”
During the past month, crews have paved the northbound lanes between Pine Avenue and McMillan Road. The intersections at Fairview Avenue, Ustick Road and McMillan Road will be paved later this summer. All construction is expected to be completed in fall 2023.
Idaho Materials & Construction is the contractor for this $18 million project.
