Utility repair work to continue on Government Way Bridge Thursday
COEUR D'ALENE - Government Way Bridge in Coeur d'Alene will be reduced to one lane in each direction beginning Thursday (Nov. 1) at 7 a.m., the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The lane reduction is necessary while repairs are made to the water main line on the south approach of the bridge.
The lane restrictions will be in effect through Saturday (Nov. 3). Crews will work 10-hour shifts each day.
The bridge may be reduced to one-lane, one-way traffic for brief periods during that time. Traffic control measures, including flaggers during the work hours, will guide traffic through the work zone. Motorists are urged to use caution as they travel through the work-zone area.
The work is being done as part of a $2.7 million bridge replacement contract with Morgen & Oswood of Great Falls, Mont.
