Westbound lane and ramp reopening at I-84 Simco Road Interchange
The closed lane on westbound I-84 at Simco Road Interchange will reopen Friday evening, allowing for travel in both lanes again. The westbound on and off ramps (Exit 74) are anticipated to reopen next week. There will be intermittent daytime lane closures on I-84 near the Simco Road interchange throughout the construction period, (anticipated to end in summer 2024). Travelers should not expect weekend lane closures moving forward.
The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) wants to remind drivers to have patience when traveling through the construction zone area, slow down, and obey all posted signs. Travelers are reminded to know before they go and check 511.idaho.gov for traffic impacts.
Construction began in July of this year to replace the bridge over I-84, originally built in 1959.
