Rehabilitation of State Highway 55 between State Highway 44 and Horseshoe Bend begins next week
BOISE — The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) will begin rehabilitation of State Highway 55 (SH-55) between State Highway 44 (State Street) and Horseshoe Bend during the week of November 13.
The project includes milling and resurfacing the roadway for a smoother driving experience and making American with Disabilities (ADA) improvements at SH-55 intersections with Hill, Floating Feather, and Beacon Light roads. Safety improvements include replacing guardrail, as needed, throughout the project area. Improvements will be completed with a combination of day and night work.
Motorists will begin to see construction activity, including signage and equipment near the Avimor development. The project includes constructing a bridge for both vehicle and pedestrian traffic to travel under SH-55 at the north end of Avimor. This work will occur at night and is being funded by Avimor.
Central Paving Inc. is the contractor for this project. Construction is anticipated to be complete by fall 2024.
