ITD seeking comment on SH-44 study in Middleton at open house

MIDDLETON – The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is hosting two open houses to introduce a study that will focus on State Highway 44 from Interstate 84 to Star Road. The open houses will present the project’s purpose, timeline, and study area. ITD will collect feedback from the public at the in-person open house and online.

Details for the in-person meetings are listed below:

  • Thursday, Jan. 11, at Middleton Middle School at 511 W Main Street in Middleton
  • Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Star Fire Protection District at 11665 W State Street, Ste. B in Star
  • 4:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. (drop in anytime)

The same information will be available at both in-person meetings and online. The online meeting will be open from Jan. 11 – 25 at: https://itdprojects.idaho.gov/pages/sh44pel

“With the population growth in Canyon County, traffic along the SH-44 corridor is estimated to almost double by 2050. This project will evaluate needs and identify opportunities to improve safety, operations and multimodal capacity to meet current and future travel demands. We look forward to hearing from everyone,” Project Manager Mark Wasdahl said.
