ITD is studying I-84 between the SH-44 and Centennial Way interchanges to identify improvements to enhance safety, mobility and capacity. This project is part of an ongoing effort to improve I-84 in Canyon County.
ITD is evaluating several improvements to I-84 including:
- Adding capacity by increasing the number of lanes
- Improving interchange ramps to meet current design standards
- Replacing aging infrastructure.
To evaluate these improvements, ITD is completing a traffic and safety study, conducting an environmental evaluation, gathering community input and prioritizing needed improvements.
Elements of this project are funded with Transportation Expansion and Congestion Mitigation (TECM) funds as part of Governor Little's Leading Idaho program. This initiative allows ITD to take a deliberate approach to invest in projects within the TECM corridors that will enhance safety, improve mobility, further strengthen Idaho’s economy and positively impact communities across the state for years to come.
