Public invited to review environmental document for proposed I-84 access at Ten Mile Road
BOISE - The public can review and comment on the Environmental Assessment (EA) for the proposed Ten Mile Interchange beginning Nov. 6, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced.

The EA evaluates the impacts of the proposed Interstate 84 (I-84) on- and off-ramps at Ten Mile Road in Meridian. The document is available for public review at the following locations:
  •     Meridian Public Library, 1326 Cherry Lane (Meridian)
  •     Meridian City Hall, 33 E. Idaho Ave. (Meridian)
  •     Idaho Transportation Department, 8150 Chinden Blvd. (Boise)
  •     Federal Highway Administration, 3050 N. Lakeharbor Lane, Ste. 126 (Boise)
The EA, along with other project information, is also available on the Web at www.itd.idaho.gov; select Projects, then Southwest Idaho on the map and Ten Mile Interchange.

ITD will hold a public hearing to collect testimony on the EA. The hearing will be held Dec. 4 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Central Valley Baptist Church at 600 N. Ten Mile Road in Meridian.

The proposed interchange would provide new access to I-84 in western Ada County and relieve congestion at the Meridian Interchange. It is part of the GARVEE Transportation Program, which uses funding from Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to construct needed highway improvements throughout the state in less time than traditional funding methods allow.

Construction, anticipated to begin in 2009, depends on additional funding.
