Media invited to celebrate winning students in first-ever ITD Name a Snowplow Contest
BOISE — The Idaho Transportation Department invites members of the media to join us on Monday, Jan. 27, as we visit Hillside Junior High School to unveil the region's first-ever ITD named snowplow, Clearapathra, as one of two local winners.
Last fall eighth grade classrooms across the state were invited to submit their most creative snowplow names. Those entries were then voted on by ITD employees to select two winners from each geographical region of the state.
The names will be visibly displayed across the plow's blade, with that plow appearing at wining schools to celebrate student creativity. The event will also provide students with a brief presentation on winter driving safety, specifically designed for this crucial age group that will soon be the freshest batch of winter drivers.
In Southwest Idaho the first of two celebrations will be held:
Monday, Jan. 27, at Hillside Junior High School at 11:45 a.m.
Winning Plow Name: Clearapathra
The other winner in Southwest Idaho is Fairmont Junior High School for NoMoreMr.IceGuy.
