Public input sought on interstate access and congestion issues in north Pocatello/Chubbuck areas

POCATELLO - Possible interstate access and congestion improvements in the north Pocatello and Chubbuck areas will be discussed at an open house meeting April 4, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The public will be asked to help evaluate interchange options on a section of I-15 roughly bounded on the south by the WYE and on the north by 2-1⁄2 Mile Road. The open house will be Monday, April 4, between 4 and 7 p.m. at Tyhee Elementary School, 12743 W. Tyhee Rd in Chubbuck.

The project is intended to enhance transportation efficiency and safety and may include connecting roads and ramps at proposed interchange locations. Local options not using I-15 are also being considered.

Several concepts addressing access and congestion issues will be displayed for review. Project team members will be available to answer questions about the concepts and to hear public concerns and comments. Displays illustrating the studys purpose, location, environmental evaluation process, and schedule will also be available for review.

More information about this project is available on the web at itd.idaho.gov/getinvolved/d5 click on I-15 Environmental Study.
