Work resumes on Rathdrum Creek Bridge; lane restrictions in effect

COEUR D'ALENE - Work will resume on the Rathdrum Creek Bridge Project on Monday (March 28), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane on the bridge during daylight hours and kept at two lanes at night. The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph. Flaggers will guide motorists through the work zone when a lane closed.

Last fall, a new steel culvert was installed to replace a 1936 concrete culvert. Remaining work includes removing the existing asphalt, raising the highway surface, paving an 1,800-foot section of roadway and installing guardrail.

The work is expected to be complete this spring.

N.A. Degerstrom, Inc. of Spokane is the contractor for this $665,000 project.
