Weight and speed restrictions to be placed on Idaho 3 beginning Monday (Feb. 25)
COEUR d'ALENE - Idaho 3 in Benewah County will have speed and weight restrictions in place beginning Monday (Feb. 25), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The highway is beginning to show stress from a severe freeze/thaw cycle in recent weeks.
Restrictions on Idaho 3 will be from the junction of Idaho 3/Idaho 97 to Interstate 90 (mileposts 95.6 - 117.68). The weight restriction is 14,000 pounds per axle, and the speed limit is reduced to 30 mph. The restriction will be in place until further notice.
The weight and speed limit restrictions do not apply to emergency vehicles and school buses.
