Additional weight and speed restrictions to be placed on Idaho 3 beginning Thursday (Feb. 28)
COEUR d'ALENE - Idaho 3 in Benewah County will have additional speed and weight restrictions in place beginning Thursday (Feb. 28), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The highway is beginning to show stress from a severe freeze/thaw cycle in recent weeks.
Restrictions on Idaho 3 will be from the St. Joe River Road at St. Maries to the junction of Idaho 97 (mileposts 84.5 - 96.5). The weight limit is 14,000 pounds per axle, and the speed limit is reduced to 30 mph. Weight and speed restrictions are also in place on the following state highways:
- Idaho 3, from the junction of Idaho 97 to Interstate 90 (mileposts 96.5 - 117.68)
- Idaho 57, from Priest River to Nordman (mileposts 0.0 - 37.23)
- Idaho 200, from the junction of U.S. 95 to the Montana state line (mileposts 30.0 - 63.11)
The restrictions will be in place until further notice.
Weight and speed limit restrictions do not apply to emergency vehicles and school buses.
