Interstate 84 westbound off-ramp near Franklin Interchange (Exit 29) to close morning of Thursday, March 20
BOISE - The westbound off-ramp on Interstate 84 near the Franklin Road Interchange will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. Thursday, March 20 as crews install an overhead sign bridge, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

During the closure, signs will direct motorists to use westbound Exit 28 (10th Avenue) and travel eastbound on I-84 to Exit 29. Crews will work to open the ramp as quickly as possible.

The sign bridge installation is part of the Franklin Interchange reconstruction project in Caldwell. It will lengthen and widen all four interchange ramps at their intersection with Franklin Road. The project includes building a new overpass with two through lanes in each direction and dual left turn lanes in each direction.

The project also will widen Franklin Road from two to five lanes on both sides of the new interchange overpass. The improved road will have a curb, gutter, sidewalk, bicycle lanes and shoulder.

Construction is on schedule to be complete in the fall of 2008.
