Big Lost River rest area on U.S. 20-26 near Arco now open
RIGBY ‑ The Big Lost River safety rest area on U.S. 20‑26, approximately 16 miles east of Arco (milepost 265), is now open, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Reconstruction of the rest area was completed Wednesday (March 26) and included constructing a new rest area building, reconfiguring site layout, enlarging parking areas, upgrading the water supply system, installing a new water treatment system, placing new sidewalks and improving facility lighting.
Crews closed the rest area a year ago for the major renovation. H‑K Contractors Inc. of Idaho Falls was the contractor for the $1.7 million project.
