Paving to resume Tuesday (April 1) between Broadway and Eisenman interchanges
BOISE - Work will tentatively resume mid-morning on Tuesday (April 1) to pave 6.1 miles of I-84 between the Broadway and Eisenman interchanges, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced. Brief lane closures will occur on Monday (March 31) for several hours while crews prepare to pave.

The speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph in the project area for safety.

The closures will allow crews to complete the I-84, Broadway to Eisenman rehabilitation project that began in September 2007. At that time, crews rehabilitated the roadway and placed four inches of new asphalt pavement. This project will place the final two inches of pavement. When complete in June, the project is expected to extend the roadway surface life 20 to 30 years.

The project will require the following daytime and nighttime closures on I-84 from April 1-12.
The westbound I-84 off-ramp at Gowen Road will be closed.
The westbound I-84 on-ramp at Eisenman Road will be closed.
One lane of eastbound and westbound I-84 will be closed between the Gowen and Eisenman interchanges.

Closures are expected on the eastbound side of the Gowen and Eisenman interchanges in mid-April. The Broadway Interchange will be partially closed for two weekends in late April for this project. Closure dates will depend on weather and will be announced.

Motorists are encouraged to visit 511.Idaho.gov or dial 5-1-1 for current driving information on I-84. ITD will also post updates to www.itd.idaho.gov under Projects, Southwest Idaho and I-84, Broadway to Eisenman.

Western Construction of Boise is the contractor on this $12 million project.
