Preparations begin tonight (Wednesday, April 23) for weekend ramp closures at Broadway Interchange
BOISE - Work from 8 p.m. tonight (April 23) through 1 a.m. Thursday morning (April 24) will re-stripe Interstate 84 for a weekend closure of two ramps at the Broadway Interchange, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The work will require a brief closure of the westbound off-ramp tonight to prepare the roadway for traffic shifts over the weekend.

Beginning at 8 p.m. Friday (April 25), the eastbound I-84 on- and off-ramps at the Broadway Interchange will be closed. Both ramps will re-open at 6 a.m. Monday (April 28).

During the weekend, motorists can access eastbound I-84 from Vista Avenue or Gowen Road. Eastbound traffic on I-84 may access Broadway Avenue by exiting at Gowen Road and traveling west on Federal Way.

Work at the Broadway Interchange is part of the 6.1-mile pavement work on I-84 that began last fall. The project involves rehabilitating the underlying concrete roadway and placing six inches of new asphalt pavement on I-84.

ITD scheduled the Broadway Interchange closures during weekend hours to minimize delays for commuters.

Current driving information is available by dialing 5-1-1 or visiting 511.Idaho.gov.

The $12 million I-84, Broadway to Eisenman project is expected to be complete in early summer. The project is funded through the GARVEE Transportation Program, which uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite interstate improvements.

Western Construction of Boise is the project contractor.
