Closures at Broadway Interchange May 2-9 will complete I-84, Broadway to Eisenman rehabilitation project
BOISE - A series of brief closures at the Broadway Avenue Interchange will begin Friday (May 2) for final paving on the I-84, Broadway to Eisenman project, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced.

The westbound Interstate 84 on- and off-ramps will be closed at the Broadway Interchange:
    8 p.m. Friday (May 2) through 6 a.m. Monday (May 5)
    8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday and Tuesday (May 5-6)

The eastbound I-84 off-ramp tentatively will be closed at the Broadway Interchange for several hours between 8 p.m. on Wednesday (May 7) night and 6 a.m. the following morning.

I-84 will intermittently be restricted to one lane in each direction Friday-Friday, (May 2-9) in the project area.

The work next week will complete a 6.1-mile rehabilitation of I-84 that began last fall. The project involves rehabilitating the underlying concrete roadway and placing six inches of new asphalt pavement on I-84.

All closures will be postponed in case of inclement weather.

During the closures, motorists can access westbound I-84 from Vista Avenue or Gowen Road. Interstate traffic may access Broadway Avenue by exiting at Gowen Road and traveling west on Federal Way.

The $12 million I-84, Broadway to Eisenman project is expected to be complete this month. The project is funded through the GARVEE Transportation Program, which uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite interstate improvements.

Western Construction of Boise is the project contractor.

ITD and the Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for driving information on the state highway or interstate system.
