Eastbound off-ramp at I-84 Franklin Interchange in Caldwell to close Sunday night (May 11) for ramp work
BOISE - The eastbound I-84 off-ramp at Exit 29, Franklin Interchange in Caldwell will be closed Sunday night (May 11) from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The closure will allow the transportation department to install guardrail and stripe the new ramp. In case of inclement weather, the closure may be delayed or postponed.
Traffic expecting to use the eastbound off-ramp will be detoured to Exit 28 (10th Avenue) and directed back to Franklin Road. The interstate will remain open, although the inside lane will be closed.
This work is part of the I-84 Franklin Road Interchange project that will lengthen and widen all four interchange ramps at their intersection with Franklin Road. The project includes building a new overpass with two through lanes in each direction and dual left-turn lanes in each direction.
The project also will widen Franklin Road from two to five lanes on both sides of the new interchange overpass. The improved road will have new curb, gutter, sidewalk, bicycle lanes and shoulder.
Construction is scheduled to be finished this summer.
