Alameda Road to be reconstructed
POCATELLO - Reconstruction and widening of Alameda Road from Pole Line Road to McKinley Avenue in Pocatello will begin Monday, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announces.

The project includes two lanes each direction, a turn lane, bike lanes, curb, gutter, sidewalks, and two parking/ loading/ unloading areas next to school property.

The contractor will work on the south side of the roadway during the first phase, and will work the north side after completing the south side. Work is expected to take place Mondays through Fridays, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Motorists can expect two-way, two-lane traffic with the speed reduced to 25 mph. Heavy construction equipment will be active in the area, and caution should be used when traveling in the work zone.

Mickelsen Construction of Blackfoot is the contractor.  The $2.3 million Federal Aid Project is expected to be complete by mid-October.  ITD is administering this project for the city of Pocatello.
