Daytime I-84 restrictions planned near Caldwell Franklin Interchange Tuesday and Wednesday (June 17-18)
BOISE - Less than a mile of east- and westbound Interstate 84 will be restricted in Caldwell on Tuesday and Wednesday (June 17-18) as part of the Franklin Interchange reconstruction project, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Westbound I-84 will be reduced to one lane from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday (June 17). The eastbound lanes also will be reduced from two to one during the same hours on Wednesday (June 18).
The lane restriction will extend one mile west of the Franklin Road exit. All ramps will remain open.
The restrictions are necessary for safety while crews work in the I-84 median. The work is part of the Franklin Interchange reconstruction project, which began in December 2006 to improve access to Caldwell from I-84 and ease congestion.
The project is on schedule finish next month. A dedication ceremony to celebrate the new interchange is scheduled for July 8.
