Eastbound off-ramp at Franklin Interchange to close Tuesday night (June 24) for sign work
BOISE - The eastbound off-ramp at Exit 29, Franklin Interchange will be closed from 10 p.m. Tuesday night (June 24) through 4 a.m. Wednesday (June 25), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The closure is needed to install the overhead sign bridge on the new ramp.
Traffic using the eastbound off-ramp will be detoured to Exit 28 (10th Avenue) and directed back to Franklin Road.
The interstate will remain open, although the inside lane will be closed.
The Franklin Interchange reconstruction project began in December 2006 to improve access to Caldwell from I-84 and ease congestion.
The project is on schedule to be finished next month. A dedication ceremony to celebrate the interchange is scheduled for July 8.
ITD and the Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for driving information on the state highway or interstate system.
