Advisory committee members sought for Lewiston project

LEWISTON - Two wIndividuals are being sought to serve on an Advisory Committee for improvements to Snake River Avenue and Southway Avenues,The City of Lewiston will be conducting workshops regarding roadway and pedestrian improvements to Southway and Snake River Avenues,avenues will be held Thursday. (Feb. 24), the City of Lewiston announced.

The public is asked to help the City of Lewiston identify issues, brainstorm options and recommend improvement options to Southway and Snake River Avenues within the study area. in Tthe study area area that is onincludes Snake River Avenue from Bryden Canyon Road (Southway Bridge) to the U.S. 12 Bypass, and on Southway Avenue from Snake River Avenue to 8th Street. The project will improve traffic flow, enhance safety and expand pedestrian access.

Advisory Committee members will represent a cross section of community interests and will help the City of Lewiston identify issues, brainstorm options and recommend improvements to Snake River and Southway Avenues. The Advisory Committee will meet on February 3, 2005 and at two other key times during the project. The location and time of the meetings are to be determined. Horrocks Engineers of Boise is conducting the environmental study for Snake River and Southway Avenues for the City of Lewiston.

The workshop sessions will be conducted Thursday,day., February. 24 at the Lewiston Community Center, Multi-purpose Room, 1424 Main St.reet in Lewiston. In order toTo allow every attendee adequate time for participation and to avoid overcrowding, the city is asking the public is requested to attend the workshops based on last names.

Last names beginning with A-J 4-5:30 p.m.
Last names beginning with K-Z 5:30 -7 p.m.

People are welcome to attend either workshop if the recommended time is not convenient.
