Idaho 74 to be reduced to one lane for paving operation Tuesday and Wednesday
TWIN FALLS - Idaho 74 will be reduced to one lane for resurfacing Tuesday and Wednesday (July 8-9), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Known in Twin Falls as Washington Street South, Idaho 74 will be reduced to a single lane between Highland Avenue and the Olde Town Bridge south of downtown Twin Falls for the paving project. State crews will remove the top layer of asphalt Tuesday and repave the section on Wednesday.
Drivers are cautioned to watch for flaggers and expect delays of as much as 10 minutes from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. Traffic will be stopped alternately to facilitate travel through the work zone. Drivers are urged to consider an alternate route. A 14-foot width restriction will be in effect during working hours.
ITD and the Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
