Nighttime work to begin on Idaho 75 this week
HAILEY - Highway construction will result in the closure of  one lane of Idaho 75 between Bellevue and Hailey in the Wood River Valley beginning this week, the Idaho Transportation Department  announced.

The work, between Spruce Street in Bellevue (milepost 112) and the Fox Acres signal in Hailey (milepost 116), will be done during evening and nighttime hours over the next few weeks. Work will take place between 7 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. seven days per week for approximately four weeks.

Milling of the roadway is expected to begin this week with paving to begin approximately 10 days later. The road will receive two and a half inches of new asphalt. Valley Paving of Bellevue is the contractor for the $1.25 million paving project. One lane will be closed during work hours, and a pilot car will be used to lead traffic through the construction zone.  Flaggers will direct traffic.

Drivers are urged to be cautious when driving through the construction zone and to watch for workers and equipment when present. ITD appreciates the patience and cooperation of those driving through the work zone.

ITD and the Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
