Construction on railroad crossing on Broadway Street in Idaho Falls to start Tuesday (July 22)
RIGBY ‑ Construction on the Eastern Idaho Railroad crossing on the U.S. 20 business loop (also known as Broadway Street) in Idaho Falls will start Tuesday (July 22), the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced.
Crews will replace broken and warped rubber planks with concrete ones.
The railroad crossing is between Utah Avenue and Interstate 15 on Broadway Street. The project is scheduled for completion by Aug. 1.
During construction, travel will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Drivers should anticipate unusual driving conditions, such as merging traffic, construction workers and vehicles, and rough surfaces. Motorists should obey traffic control signs.
Work will take place weekdays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
The project is a joint effort between ITD, Eastern Idaho Railroad and the City of Idaho Falls.
