Seal coats to restrict Idaho 21, 75 and 275 in Ketchum, Stanley and Sun Valley areas
SHOSHONE - Road maintenance on Idaho 75 and Idaho 21 will slow travelers near Stanley beginning this week and through the town of Ketchum and Sun Valley on Idaho 275 beginning Aug. 11, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Seal-coat projects will begin this week on Idaho 75 and Idaho 21 north of Stanley. Travelers need to be prepared for 15-minute delays through the construction zones. The road maintenance projects will be between Banner Summit and Vader Creek on Idaho 21 (mileposts 105 to 116) and on Idaho 75 near Basin Creek between mileposts 197 to 202.

Beginning Aug. 11, seal coating will be applied to Idaho 275, locally referred to as Sun Valley Road, from Ketchum to Trail Creek. Drivers need to be prepared for stops, slow traffic, and flaggers through the construction zone.

Seal coating protects the roadway surface and improves traction for motorists.

For travelers between Shoshone and Bellevue, seal coating also will be applied to Idaho 75 between Mammoth Cave and the Richfield Canal (milepost 182 to 192) during the week of Aug. 11. Drivers will need to be prepared to stop.

Drivers are urged to be cautious when driving through the construction zone and to watch for crew members and equipment when present. ITD appreciates the patience and cooperation of those driving through the work zone.

ITD and the Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
