McCall projects on Idaho 55 get under way Tuesday (Aug. 26)
BOISE - The first of two projects on Idaho 55 through McCall is set to begin Tuesday (Aug. 26), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The second is scheduled to begin Sept. 2.
Because of the close proximity of these two projects and the same contractor working on both projects, the detour route for both is the same: the East-West Loop to Boydstun Road.
Motorists coming into McCall from the south take a left at Dienhardt and connect to Boydstun which goes to the north and hooks back into Idaho 55. Coming from the noirth, the detour route would be reversed.
In addition, the existing signal at the Mission Street intersection will operate as an all-way stop when work begins and for the duration of the project.
Both projects are due to finish around the same time late this fall.
The work will skip the section of Idaho 55 between Mission Street and Mather Road repaved recently.
The two projects are listed individually below:
Idaho 55, Mission Street Turn Bay
Start: Aug. 26, 2008
This project will add a left-turn bay and upgrade the existing traffic signal at the intersection of Lake Street and Mission Street.
Contractor: Valley Paving & Asphalt (Cottonwood, ID)
Amount: $360,464
Idaho 55, Deinhard Lane to Zachery Road
