ITD offers public continued opportunity to comment on transportation funding
BOISE - It is not too late for people to provide comments and suggestions about how to fund repair and maintenance of Idaho's roads and bridges.
People can submit comments and take a short survey by logging on to itd.idaho.gov and clicking on "Idaho's Transportation Funding Conference."
Public meetings took place in Caldwell, Coeur d'Alene, Lewiston, Idaho Falls, Pocatello, Twin Falls and Boise. More than 1,000 people attended the meetings.
"We had a great turnout at the statewide meetings and received many constructive comments," said Jeff Stratten, ITD public information officer. "There's still plenty of opportunity for people to comment if they couldn't attend any of the meetings. That input will be extremely valuable as we consider options for addressing transportation funding."
The purpose of the public meetings, which began in July, was to seek ideas on how best to pay for repairing, maintaining and improving the state's crumbling roads and bridges.
