Rollover cleared and brush fire contained on I-84 near East Boise Port of Entry, but slowdowns persist
BOISE - A brush fire and rollover accident about two miles apart near the East Boise Port of Entry this afternoon caused a major slowdown on I-84 and the temporary closure of the port, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The rollover accident, which resulted in transport of elderly woman by Life Flight to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, occurred around 2 p.m. at milepost 68. Shortly thereafter, a brush fire erupted at milepost 66, causing smoke and low visibility. It has been contained. Any residual slowdown is likely the result of drivers slowing down to survey the scene.
Motorists making their way home are encouraged to use caution in this area.
