Pavement markings on Interstate 90 on- and off-ramps will be repainted beginning Sunday (Sept. 7)
COEUR D'ALENE - Contractor's crews will repaint the pavement markings on Interstate 90 on- and off-ramps beginning Sunday night (Sept. 7), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The work is part of a roadway resurfacing project between the Washington state line and Sherman Avenue (Exit 15), which will extend the life of the roadway. Additional guardrail repair and replacement also will be done as part of this project.

Public convenience is a major factor in planning interstate construction projects. Work will take place from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Sept. 16, including the weekend.

The westbound off-ramp at the Idaho 41 interchange will be closed to traffic on Wednesday and Thursday (Sept. 10 and 11) during the nighttime hours. This is the only ramp that will require full closure while the pavement markings are repainted.

The contractor for this $6 million resurfacing project is Poe Asphalt Paving Inc. of Post Falls.

Work is expected to be complete by mid-October.

ITD and the Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
