Westbound I-84 on-ramp at Meridian Interchange closed until approximately 10 a.m.
BOISE - Westbound traffic will be unable to access I-84 at the Meridian Interchange until approximately 10 a.m. this morning (Friday, Sept. 12), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. During the closure, local traffic is being detoured to the Eagle Interchange westbound on-ramp.

Crews are finishing paving currently, after which they need to let the surface cool for striping, and cool further for guardrail placement.

This work is part of the traffic shift that went into effect last night on I-84 in the 3.5-mile stretch of highway between the Locust Grove and Black Cat overpasses.

The transportation department reminds motorists to use extra caution while traveling the area. The lane shift will be in effect for two to three months while crews rebuild existing westbound lanes as part of the Garrity to Meridian widening project on I-84. The reconstructed lanes will be open to traffic in late fall.

Nighttime lane closures on I-84 will continue through September. At least one lane of traffic in each direction is typically open between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. on weekdays and between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
