Closure of Idaho 78 near Grand View to continue through late afternoon
GRAND VIEW - Idaho 78 will remain closed through late afternoon as crews finish cleaning up after a semi truck accident just outside of Grand View this morning, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The highway is expected to reopen sometime between 4:30 and 6:00 p.m today.
The single-vehicle crash occurred near milepost 55 (about four miles north of Grand View) at around 6:30 this morning. The highway is closed from milepost 52 to 57 for passenger traffic, and a detour using River Road and Beet Dump Road is in effect.
Commercial truck traffic is being stopped and re-routed eastbound at milepost 19 (the Idaho 78 junction with Idaho 45), and westbound at milepost 60 (the Idaho 78/67 junction).
