Reminder: pavement maintenance on I-84 between Cole and Broadway set for next two Saturdays - Sept. 20 and Sept. 27
BOISE - Lane restrictions on eastbound I-84 between Cole Road and Broadway Avenue will occur from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. while crews perform pavement maintenance on consecutive Saturdays starting tomorrow (Sept. 20 and Sept. 27), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The speed limit for eastbound traffic from milepost 50 to milepost 54 will be reduced to 55 mph with a further reduction to 35 mph in the immediate construction areas. Motorists will be restricted to just one lane in the project area.
ITD crews will be repairing pavement slabs, some of them 12 feet x 30 feet.
Variable Message Signs will be posted on the Connector (I-184) and on I-84 eastbound to alert motorists who may choose to take an alternate route around the work area.
ITD and the Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
