Public invited to provide input on Idaho 55 corridor
BOISE - A public open house will be held at the Central Canyon Elementary School (16437 Florida Ave.) in Caldwell on Oct. 15 to identify Idaho 55 improvements and corridor needs, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

At Wednesday's open house, public comment will be taken on the Idaho 55 Corridor Study. The study limits range from New Meadows to Marsing and will result in a plan that identifies polices and projects important to the development of this major highway over the next 20 years.

Idaho 55 is the only link between the Treasure Valley and popular destinations such as Payette Lake and Cascade Reservoir.

The completed corridor study will include an analysis of existing conditions on the highway, a forecast of future demand over the next 20 years, and a list of short and long-term improvements to Idaho 55.

As part of the study, ITD will analyze safety, access management, traffic, and environmental issues. The study will be based on community input, engineering analysis, and city, county, and agency planning goals.
