Realignment project begins on Albion Hill

SHOSHONE - Construction began today to realign Idaho 77 from its intersection of 500 South to the Albion city limit, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The project includes excavation and blasting of an adjacent hillside. Flaggers will be used periodically to control traffic through the blast area; motorists can expect delays of up to 10 minutes. Excavation is expected to be completed in May.

Debco Construction of Orofino is the contractor for this $6 million project, which should be completed late this fall. The realignment will create a safer roadway by removing substandard curves, widening the pavement to accommodate farm equipment, and reducing potential for snowdrifts.
