Westbound Bliss Rest Area closed Wednesday (Oct. 15)
SHOSHONE - Interstate travelers heading west will need to plan on extending the length of travel between breaks on Wednesday (Oct. 15) as the westbound Bliss Rest Area will be closed for parking lot maintenance, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The rest area at milepost 132 will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday so crews can place a seal coat over the asphalt pavement.
If weather and other factors allow, the eastbound rest area will be closed on Friday (Oct. 17), also for a seal coat of the parking lot. An update will be made on the ITD 511 traveler information network as soon as information is available. Information can be accessed by dialing 5-1-1 or by visiting 511.idaho.gov.
The next rest area to the west of Bliss on Interstate 84 is about 70 miles away, west of the Blacks Creek exit, located at milepost 62. Eastbound travelers will need to access the Jerome Rest Area at milepost 171.
