LEWISTON - Workshops to discuss alternatives/alignments for the U.S. 95 Thorncreek Road to Moscow project will be held Jan. 19 and 20 the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced.

Anyone interested in participating is welcome to one of four workshops to be held at the Eastside Marketplace off the Troy Highway in Moscow.
Wednesday, Jan. 19 Thursday, Jan. 20.

1 to 4 p.m. or 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

1 to 4 p.m. or 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Workshops will begin at the scheduled time and will last three hours. Participants should plan to arrive 10 minutes early.

ITD will present a range of possible alternatives/alignments at the workshops. The range was developed based on public input from the open houses held in November 2004. Alignment constructability, whether a road can be built in the suggested location, was also considered.

At the workshops, participants will see descriptions and visual representations of six possible alternative/alignments:

  • Two west of the current alignment
  • Two east of the current alignment
  • Improve the current alignment
  • No build Leave the current alignment as it is today

After the opening presentations, participants will have the opportunity to work in small groups discussing, changing and giving input on the range of alternatives/alignments.

U.S. 95 Thorncreek Road to Moscow is a study led by ITD to determine an alignment for nearly 6.5 miles of U.S. 95 in Latah County. The project will result in an Environmental Impact Statement.
