Transportation department hosts Weiser meeting on U.S. 95 Corridor
Boise - Two identical public workshops will be held at the Vendome Events Center (309 State St.) in Weiser on Thursday, Nov. 6, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Participants will be asked to identify needed improvements to U.S. 95 in Washington County. Comments will be used in a study of the corridor from Pinehurst at the Adams/Idaho county line to Idaho's border with Oregon in Owyhee County.

The study will result in a plan that will guide policies and projects important to the development of this major highway over the next 20 years.

The transportation department will analyze safety, traffic, access management, and environmental issues corridor-wide and county-by-county. The study will be based on community input, engineering analysis, and city, county and agency planning goals.

U.S. 95 is an important north-south route for recreational traffic, local traffic and long-haul trucks between Mexico and Canada.

The counties along U.S. 95 have varying needs. The transportation department has planned workshops for each county to discuss those needs.
