Public invited to attend informational meeting outlining the construction schedule for the Sand Creek Byway project
COEUR D'ALENE - The first in a series of informational meetings for the Sand Creek Byway project will be held Nov. 13, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The meeting will begin at 11 a.m., at the Transportation Information Office in downtown Sandpoint (202 N. 2nd St.).

The meetings will keep the public updated on the construction activities for the project. Bob Clucas, senior project manager for the project contractor, will outline the work that is expected to occur over the next few weeks.

The contractor for the $98 million project is Parsons RCI of Sumner, Washington.

Staff from the transportation department also will be on hand to answer questions about the work schedule.

Construction activities will take place year-round. The project is expected to take approximately three years to complete.

The Sand Creek Byway is 2.1 miles of new alignment connecting U.S. 95, from the northern end of the Long Bridge, directly to Idaho 200 and U.S. 95 north of Sandpoint. The project includes six bridges, 24 retaining walls and a pedestrian/bike pathway.
