Traffic delays expected overnight Tuesday (Nov. 18) at the I-84, Franklin Boulevard Interchange in Nampa
BOISE - Motorists traveling on I-84 near the Franklin Boulevard Interchange Tuesday night (Nov. 18) should expect a 15-minute delay, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced. The delays are in effect from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
All westbound lanes under the Franklin Interchange will be closed. Traffic will exit and re-enter I-84 using the on- and off-ramps at the Franklin Boulevard Interchange.
The westbound lane closures will allow crews to place bridge girders for the I-84, Franklin Boulevard Bridge project.
The Franklin Boulevard Bridge project is expected to be complete in summer of 2009 and will allow future widening on I-84. Concrete Placing Company Inc. of Boise is the contractor for this $3.1 million project.
This project is part of a series of improvements planned for I-84 in the Treasure Valley through the GARVEE Transportation Program. The program uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to expedite interstate improvements.
ITD and the Idaho State Police warn motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
