Intersection closure at Robinson Boulevard and Flamingo Avenue near Nampa starts Monday (Nov. 24) morning
BOISE - The intersection of Robinson Boulevard and Flamingo Avenue just south of I-84, east of Nampa, will be closed beginning at 6 a.m. Monday (Nov. 24), the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced.

The intersection is scheduled to re-open Dec. 15.

As part of the Robinson Boulevard and Black Cat Road bridge replacement project, the intersection also is being rebuilt. ITD is replacing the bridges to prepare for future widening improvements to I-84. The bridge replacement is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2009.

ITD advises motorists to be aware of workers and equipment in the area. Safety barricades will be placed at the intersection during the closure.

This project is part of a series of interstate improvements planned for I-84 between Caldwell and Meridian through the GARVEE Transportation Program, which uses Grant Anticipation Vehicle (GARVEE) bonds to accelerate highway improvement projects.

Graham Construction & Management Inc. of Spokane is the contractor for the $8.5 million bridge project.

ITD and the Idaho State Police caution motorists to slow down and pay attention when driving in work zones, where increased speeding fines and other penalties apply. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and dial 5-1-1 or visit 511.idaho.gov for information on the state highway or interstate system.
