Public invited to open houses on U.S. 26 / S.H. 39 Corridor Plan

POCATELLO - Two open houses are planned to provide the public an opportunity to review the draft Existing Conditions Analysis for the U.S. 26/State Highway 39 Corridor Plan, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced.

ITD planners and consultants will be available to listen to concerns and provide answers to questions at open houses in Riverside and American Falls:

  • Tues., Jan. 18, 5 - 8 p.m. Snake River Junior High School, 918 Highway 39, Riverside, and
  • Wed., Jan. 19, 5 8 p.m., William Thomas Middle School, 355 Bannock Avenue, American Falls

The Existing Conditions Analysis inventories and analyzes current corridor conditions, including capacity, safety, and traffic operations. ITD is developing a 20-year plan for these highways and will look at a broad range of solutions to current problems and future needs along the corridor. The meetings are an opportunity for community members to discuss issues and concerns about conditions along the highway corridors.

Corridor plans are developed with local communities to address a variety of issues and alternatives. This big-picture planning approach leads to better and more cost-effective solutions and assures that the corridor will remain a vital link in Idahos transportation system.
