Public comment on Idaho 55 will be gathered at Dec. 11 meeting
BOISE - Two identical public workshops will be held at Horseshoe Bend High School (398 School Dr.) on Thursday, Dec. 11, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and 6 to 7:30 p.m., the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Participants will have an opportunity to identify needed improvements to Idaho 55 as part of a corridor study from New Meadows to Marsing. Workshops will focus on the roadway in Boise County.
The study will result in a plan that will guide policies and projects important to the development of this major highway over the next 20 years.
As part of the study, the transportation department will analyze safety, traffic, access management and environmental issues corridor-wide and county-by-county. The study will be based on community input, engineering analysis, and city, county, and agency planning goals.
The transportation department is conducting workshops in each county along Idaho 55.
Idaho 55 is the only link between the Treasure Valley and popular recreation destinations such as Payette Lake and the Cascade Reservoir.
