I-84 reopened east of Rupert to Utah state line
RUPERT - Interstate 84 has been reopened from its junction with I-86 east of Rupert to the Utah state line, the Idaho Transportation Department announced Wednesday morning. The road had been closed since Monday afternoon.
Steady winds, low or zero visibility, and snowdrifts made the route impassable. ITD maintenance crews reported that numerous vehicles, including semi-trucks and trailers, had gotten stuck along the highway before it was closed.
Travelers are advised to check the 511 Traveler Services system on the Web at 511.idaho.gov or dial 5-1-1 for the latest highway conditions.
