Expect I-84 lane closures overnight this week (Jan. 5-7) near Vista, Broadway interchanges
BOISE - Overnight lane closures are planned on westbound I-84 from Monday through Wednesday (Jan. 5-7) this week while the Idaho Transportation Department completes guardrail between the Vista and Broadway interchanges for the new soundwall.
ITD expects the 3.3-mile project, which began in April 2008, to be completed later this month.
Weather permitting, the outside lane of westbound I-84 will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night. Flaggers will direct traffic onto westbound I-84 at the Vista and Broadway interchanges.
The right-turn lane onto I-84 from Broadway Avenue is expected to re-open on Tuesday (Jan. 6). The turn lane was closed during work on the east end of the soundwall.
The $9.5 million soundwall project to reduce interstate noise is funded through the GARVEE Transportation Program, which uses Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle bonds to expedite interstate improvements.
