REMINDER: I-84 closed this weekend for placement of girders at Black Cat Road and Robinson Boulevard
BOISE - Girder placement for the north spans of both Robinson Boulevard and Black Cat Road bridges will require I-84 lane closures overnight both Friday and Saturday (Jan. 16-17) nights, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Interstate 84 will be closed to all traffic overnight from 10 p.m. Friday (Jan. 16) until 7 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 17) and again from 10 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 17) until 7 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 18) for the girder placement.

All traffic will be detoured off the freeway during the closure. The detour route will be Franklin Road between the Garrity Interchange and the Meridian Interchange.

Girders were previously placed for the south span of the Robinson structure Jan. 2 and for the south span of the Black Cat structure Jan. 11.

As it has throughout the project, Robinson Boulevard remains closed from Franklin Road to Stamm Lane and Black Cat Road remains closed between Franklin Road and Overland Road. Completion of the bridge project is expected by early spring.

The contractor for this $8.5 million project is Graham Construction & Management, Inc. of Spokane.
