REMINDER: I-84 closed tonight and Saturday night between Meridian and Nampa to place girders for bridge project
BOISE - Girder placement for the north spans of both Robinson Boulevard and Black Cat Road bridges will require I-84 lane closures overnight tonight (Friday, Jan. 16) and Saturday night (Jan. 17) between Meridian and Nampa, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Interstate 84 will be closed to all traffic overnight from 10 p.m. tonight until 7 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 17) and again from 10 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 17) until 7 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 18) for the girder placement.

All traffic will be detoured off the freeway during the closure. The detour route will be Franklin Road between the Garrity Interchange and the Meridian Interchange. All intersections on the detour route will be controlled by flaggers.

In addition to the girder placement, crews plan to patch potholes, and if the weather allows, enhance pavement markings on the driving surface.

Girders were previously placed for the south span of the Robinson structure Jan. 2 and for the south span of the Black Cat structure Jan. 11.

As it has throughout the project, Robinson Boulevard remains closed from Franklin Road to Stamm Lane and Black Cat Road remains closed between Franklin Road and Overland Road. Completion of the bridge project is expected by early spring.

The contractor for this $8.5 million project is Graham Construction & Management, Inc. of Spokane.
