Meeting scheduled Wednesday to discuss Hiline Road project
POCATELLO - Plans to expand Hiline Road from two lanes to five lanes will be presented at an open house in Chubbuck Wednesday (Feb. 4), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Chubbuck City Council Chamber.

The project will begin this week with construction of a concrete box culvert that will move about 3,500 feet of the Hiline Canal underground. Highway construction includes widening Hiline Road to five lanes from Flandro Drive to Chubbuck Road and replacing two Interstate 86 bridges over Hiline Road.

Representatives of Knife River Construction will attend the Wednesday meeting and be available to answer questions and accept comments from the public. Citizens who would like information about the project but cannot attend the meeting can contact ITD's project engineer, Dan Harelson at 239-3358 in Pocatello.

The $11 million project will continue through the 2009 construction season and extend into mid-2010, Harelson said.
